Pumpkins, Ghosts and Bats!

There are so many wonderful harvest, Halloween, and Autumn events popping up in easy driving distance of Airhouses so we have gathered our favourites below.

Pumpkin Picking

Adding a new element to carving pumpkins is the growth of pick your own on many wonderful farms in Scotland.

Kindruff Farm in East Lothian is a 35 minute drive away and they provide a pick your own pumpkin experience on a working farm. In fact this year they are having a whole pumpkin festival, with food and drink available and a huge array of pumpkins! You can book your slot here

Clackmea Farm is a local farm in Lauder and they have also opened a field for pick you own, and have some carving workshop slots available. To book at this farm click here

Halloween Family Fun

There are a number of Halloween Trails and Spooky Events happening during October. If fact, you could be spoilt for choice. Would doing them all be a bit too much I wonder?!

Floors Castle

The beautiful, majestic Floors Castle, home of the Duke and Duchess of Roxburgh, is being transformed into a spooky ghost house for Halloween. To find our more and book your slot have a look here

Paxton House

Another beautiful house, set in gorgeous grounds near the River Tweed, has Potion Making workshops, a Halloween trail and even a Bat Walk on offer! Have a peek at their web site here for more details.

Apple Days

The small but beautiful Priorwood Gardens is hosting an Apple Day. Their gardens are next to Melrose Abbey and Melrose itself is well worth a visit. Not only will you be able to learn more about apples, there will be stalls as well and why not buy some apples for dookin' when you get back to your lodge.
