Autumn is also a great time to stay on the farm, snuggle up with a good book or relax in the hot tub watching the leaves glide from the trees. Pop to the farm shop and try our new freshly made soups, and warming lemon cakes.
If you have children you may be interested in borrowing our newly acquired den building set from the play den. Equipped with string, pegs and a tarp help the kids build a den - add branches, ferns and leaves to create a secret den where their imaginations can run wild.
A early evening stroll at this time of year is full of wildlife. You may see the barn owl who has started her dusk flights again past the lodges and up across the farm to the wood she lives in. The deer will be out grazing the pastures along the side of the farm track. The bats are also out at the same time, especially around the trees near the Capercaille, swooping around the ponies searching for insects. An exhilarating sight.
With all this going on and much moreit is a perfect time to visit Airhouses and celebrate the changing of the seasons before the business of Christmas sets in. Enjoy the peace and tranquility of Autumn.
