It's safe to say that these past few months have been pretty short of adventure and getaways for all of us. So we're guessing that you're probably craving a well-deserved escape into rural bliss?
The Airhouses team is very excited to be welcoming guests back to our 5-star luxury lodges in the Scottish Borders (needless to say, we have plenty of protective measures in place to make your stay as safe as possible).
So if you'd love a chance to unwind, here's a reminder of the wonders that await you at Airhouses...
1. Gorgeous lodges with hot tubs
Each of our 5-star self-catering lodges has its own gurgling hot tub where you can lie back and watch the sunset with a glass of fizz in hand.
Depending on the individual lodge, you can also enjoy other luxuries like private outdoor seating areas, raindance showers, Smart TVs, beautiful views and we even have a cute and quirky glamping pod too).
Why not take a 3D tour of our biggest lodge, the Capercaillie?
2. Incredible scenery and wildlife
Looking for pretty vistas? We've got views galore at Airhouses. Our lodges are set in 633 acres of farmland with views across the Lammermuirs Hills (an area of high moorland between East Lothian and the Borders).
As you might guess, Airhouses is also a wildlife paradise where you can spot deer, foxes, badgers, stoats, squirrels, kestrels and barn owls. You can also go for a ramble in nearby woods and meadows, or just relax on your own private deck with a really good book. Bliss.
But don't take our word for it, here's an amazing aerial view of Airhouses Farm...
3. An adorable animal family
As well as all of the wildlife around Airhouses, we also have a range of friendly native and international animals who can't wait to meet you.
These include Obama and Orlando the alpacas; our Shetland ponies Waffle, Marmalade, Sophie, Mary, Rosie, Ruby and Ben; our pigs Snuffle, Truffle, Iggle Piggle, Iris and Upsadaisy, Apple the Highland cow, plus lots of lovely hens and bantams. Phew!
It truly is animal heaven at Airhouses — Dr. Doolittle himself would be envious.
4. Fantastic attractions
if you can manage to tear yourself away from Airhouses Farm, there's plenty to see and do in the local area as well. Nearby attractions include the gardens of Abbotsford (former home of Sir Walter Scott), the legendary Eildon Hills and the pretty riverside town of Peebles.
Plus there's the whole of the rest of the Borders to enjoy as well, including mountain biking in Tweed Valley Forest Park, shopping in Melrose or just going for a breezy stroll with the dog along Pease Bay. And let's not forget that the GoApe treetop adventure centre has now re-opened.
Whether you're travelling as a couple or a family, and whether you're looking for thrilling activities or intimate country pubs, you won't be bored for a single minute. So what are you waiting for? The Airhouses team (and all of our lovely animals) can't wait to welcome you...
