Fishing on the River Tweed

The Scottish Borders is the home of some of the best fishing with....

by far the most famous river, being the Tweed. The Tweed is  the second longest river in Scotland and is internationally renowned as one of the world’s best Salmon rivers.  It also has a superb run of sea trout in the summer and autumn as well as good quality wild trout fishing and winter grayling fishing.

There are two fisheries a pleasent drive from Airhouses, perfect for bait fishing and those who would like to fish with children.  These are Kailzie Fishery near Peebles and Markle Fisheries in East Lothian.  Whiteadder Reservoir is situated within the Lammermuir Hills between Gifford and Duns.  There is fly fishing for wild brown trout from both bank and boat.  The season starts on the 1st April and runs until the 30th September. They also have learn to fish days for children.
