By far the most famous river, being the Tweed. The Tweed is the second longest river in Scotland and is internationally renowned as one of the world’s best Salmon rivers. It also has a superb run of sea trout in the summer and autumn as well as good quality wild trout fishing and winter grayling fishing.

Permits are required and these can be purchased from any angling shop or from the Visit Scotland Website
East Lothian also has some good fishing and the Whiteadder Reservoir is situated within the Lammermuir Hills between Gifford and Duns. There is fly fishing for wild brown trout from both bank and boat. The season starts on the 1st April and runs until the 30th September.
