Carfraemill Lodge – situated a 5 min drive from Airhouses or a 40 min walk, Carfraemill is ideally situated for an evening meal or light lunch. Carfraemill has been a popular stopping point for travellers since the 1800s. It now strives to use locally produced food to make fresh and scrumptious  meals served in a cosy environment. The Flat Cat Gallery, Lauder  -  situated in Lauder 10 mins drive from Airhouses The Flay Cat is a café and gallery space, well worth a visit for a light lunch and delicious cakes. Please note it is closed on a Tuesday and Wednesday.  

The Spotty Dog Deli – a glorious little deli in Lauder, it also does an excellent cup off coffee and fantastic tray bakes! 

Soutra Coffee Shop – just over the large hill, Soutra on the A68 north to Edinburgh, is Soutra Coffee Shop. Stunning views over to the firth of forth, ad huge sandwiches I am told! Locally sourced,  freshly prepared food awaits. Please check here for current opening times.  The 

The Humbie Hub – a cosy café in the small East Lothian village of Humbie 15 mins drive away from Airhouses. Worth a drop in for hearty soups and lovely lunches.  Sometimes closed Tuesdays.

The Firebrick Brasserie – a family run Brasserie, the brain-child of two Head Chefs that have previously worked for a variety of prestigious resturants, the Firebrick strives to cook local, seasonal ingredients in an exceptional way. Provender in Melrose - beautiful, high quality ingredients served in a lovely contemporay setting. 

Seasons in Gattonside - rich homely food with a modern invented twist served in a friendly atmopshere  in a gorgeous Borders town.  They also have a superb takeaway menu.  Order by Thursday and collect Friday.
