Shaws Fine Meats
We are fortunate enough to have one of the finest butchers in the country here in Lauder The friendly and helpful staff will provide you with the best cuts of local meat and you can choose from their extensive range of award winning products too. Their Dry Aged Beef is sourced from local farms, which we believe produce the finest Scottish cattle and they dry age their beef steaks and hindquarter cuts for a minimum of 35 days before butchering and their one of a kind Extra Matured Beef is as good as it gets. Procured from farms around the Scottish Borders, Shaws Texel and Texel-Cross lambs are raised naturally amongst fields of Scottish heather making for some truly flavoursome and tender lamb.

And they source free range pork directly from trusted farmers who raise their pigs to the highest welfare standards and allow the pork to mature on the bone - making for some incredible crackling! This pork is used to produce all of their dry cured bacon and gammons.

Barbecue bliss
Shaws also supply a range of barbecue packs which can be made up for your convenience. All of our lodges have Webber Charcoal BBQ's for hire with natural Dorset charcoal, easy and quick to light, burns evenly and you are ready to cook in ten to fifteen minutes.

The Capercaillie even has an exciting BBQ Hut which means you can barbecue all year round whatever the weather. The BBQ hut originates in Lapland, has seating for 15 to 20 people around a central barbecue, there is solar lighting so that you can see what you are doing if it is dark and fairy lights for atmosphere.
